The dry season, roughly late November to April, brings the calmest seas, the clearest water and the best overall snorkeling conditions. The wetter months can be hot, humid and showery, though the reef itself remains very snorkelable — it's more a matter of comfort and visibility than safety. Water temperatures stay warm and comfortable year-round, so a light suit or rashguard is all you need. Trade winds pick up in the afternoon, so mornings give the flattest water — plan your boat trips accordingly.
