Bonaire sits outside the main hurricane belt, which keeps it remarkably consistent: sunshine and steady trade winds most of the year, with no dramatic seasonal shift to chase — the reef is good to swim any month, which is exactly the point. The trade wind picks up through the year and can stir the surface, so the sheltered western (leeward) side is usually the calmest choice for snorkeling. Morning is typically the best visibility and the lightest wind.
