Rowley Shoals is three atolls — Mermaid, Clerke and Imperieuse — on the edge of the continental shelf about 300 kilometres off Broome in Western Australia, and it is a DIVE destination: the trips that go there are liveaboard dive expeditions, the crossings are long, the marquee sites are the coral walls and channels around the atolls, and snorkeling is a genuine but minor part of a week aboard.
