The Daymaniyat Islands have the clearest season rule in this catalog, and it is a closure rather than a weather pattern: the nature reserve shuts to visitors during turtle-nesting season, roughly May to October, so snorkeling here happens in roughly November to April and at no other time. The dates in force are set by the authorities and can be extended, so verify the current closure locally before booking — there is no shore access and no independent route in, which means outside the open season there is simply no trip. Inside the window, the cool months are also the comfortable ones: winter and early spring bring mild air and calmer, clearer water on the Gulf of Oman coast, while late spring runs hotter on land and closer to the nesting closure. Wind still decides an individual day — a persistent northerly can chop up the exposed water, which is why the reserve's leeward bays and nearby Bandar Khayran matter — and a good skipper moves the plan rather than cancelling it.
